Polish Steamed Dumplings (pl. Pampuchy :) ) with Strawberries
Oh, I love those! When I was little these Polish dumplings were my favorite dinner dish. Soft, fluffy and warm with delicious strawberry yogurt! 🙂
As all yeast-based doughs they are quite time consuming but still fairly simple!

For 8-10 dumplings you will need:
♥ 150g flour
♥ 1/2 glass milk (125ml)
♥ 1 egg yellow
♥ 4g dry yeast (or 8g fresh yeast)
♥ 1 spoon melted butter
♥ 1 spoon homemade vanilla sugar (can be replaced with regular sugar)
1. Mix yeast with 4 spoons of warm (not hot!) milk and sugar. Leave in a warm place for 10-15min. After this time add remaining ingredients: milk, flour, egg yellow and melted butter. Knead the dough. It will be a bit sticky so you can flour your hands a bit (but try not to add too much additional flour to the dough).
2. Form a ball from the dough, place it in a bowl, cover with a wet towel and leave in a warm place for 1-2h. The dough will grow!
3. Again shortly knead the dough and separate it into 8-10 equal pieces. Form a little ball from each.
4. Flour those little balls and cover with a tower. Leave to grow for 45min. After this time cook them in the steam for 8min. You can use a steamer or just a colander posed on a pan with boiling water and under a cover.
5. Serve still warm with cold natural yogurt with brown sugar and strawberries. Yummy!
