Mulled Wine with Oranges and Almonds
That’s one of the reasons I love winter! As soon it starts snowing it is appropriate to have some hot wine. 🙂 It tastes the best after a long winter weekend walk with people you love. The best hot wine you can get is at German Christmas markets. However this particular recipe I got from my Polish father (thank you dad!). The orange, cloves, allspice and almonds make this drink very aromatic and will definitely worm you up! 😀 Hot Wine

For 4 cups:
♥ 1 bottle of dry red wine
♥ 1 orange
♥ 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder (best would be Cinnamon sticks tough!)
♥ 3 spoons of almonds
♥ 1 spoon of raisins
♥ 4-7 spoons of honey (to taste!)
♥ 1 spoon of cloves
♥ 1 spoon of allspice
1. Start with blanching almonds in order to easily remove their skin. Pour boiling over almonds and leave it for 1-2min. After this time the skin should go off without any difficulties.
2. Pour the wine in a pot. Add cloves, allspice, cinnamon powder and almonds. Heat it up on the medium hot stove almost until boiling- just before it starts boiling put it of the stoves and leave it to cool down a bit for 15min. Repeat this step 2-3 times.
3. Use a sieve to remove all the spices. But put back the almonds.
4. Add raisins and honey.
5. Add sliced orange and worm it up almost until boiling.
6. Enjoy!
