Fried Apples
Fried apples are one of my mom’s specialties.
They are soft and sweet inside and crispy outside. I love them with melted butter and sprinkled with cinnamon. It’s a perfect way to celebrate a weekend morning!

For 2-3 portions:
♥ 2-3 apples
♥ 200g natural yogurt
♥ 2-4 tablespoons milk (as needed)
♥ 1 egg
♥ 75g flour (around 5 tablespoons)
♥ 1 tablespoon homemade vanilla sugar
♥ 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
♥ frying oil (I use rapeseed oil)
to serve with:
♥ cinnamon & icing sugar
♥ melted butter (optional)
1. Beat the egg white until stiff. In another bowl mix together flour with yogurt, milk, cinnamon, egg yellow and vanilla sugar. The batter will be very thick. Add milk to make it a bit more liquid. Gently, integrate the beaten egg white into the batter.
2. Peel and slice the apples. In order to remove seed pockets I use a little metallic cap. But you can do it with a knife as well.
3. Dip apples in the batter and directly fry in a medium hot oil. It will take 3-5min on each side. The apples are ready when golden-brown.
4. You can pour some melted butter over them. Serve them still hot and sprinkled with icing sugar and cinnamon. Enjoy ♥
Ooh fried apples definitely take me back to my childhood! Thanks for reminding me how awesome and delicious they are, I definitely will be recreating the recipe.
